There is a whole lot of focus this year in the disability sector on employment opportunities, vocational training and skills development. We have more projects coming that are in line with current trends and needs in the sector. At the last AGM, Sharon was talking about the plans for Cluny Farm makeover or revamp. So how do we get there? If we want to be a service provider of note we have to get a few things right first...
In the medium term we are looking at transformation, creating a centre of service excellence, ensuring quality care for service recipients, addressing the work culture of Cluny Farm by establishing its value system, having a board that underwrites good governance and advocating for the rights of persons with special needs.
In the shorter term we want to create extra streams of revenue for the organisation, renovate the buildings, improve security, get involved in the Sun Valley and greater Kyalami community and harness opportunities via volunteers and partnerships.
At the moment, we are looking into policies, procedures, creating systems, checks and balances, creating a professional team for quality service delivery, establishing a steady income for Cluny Farm Centre and, of course, making Cluny an attractive, homely village for our residents.
Which brings us to the question, how can you bring your skills and expertise to the table? How can you get involved? More about this later.
