Preparing our Vegetable Tunnel - day one

Plans for Cluny Farm Centre in 2018 include the re-establishment of our two large vegetable tunnels.

Cluny Farm, assisted by the DisChem Foundation will start producing organic vegetables in January this year. The DisChem Foundation has undertaken to provide training for some of our Residents and their Garden Foundation staff will come in and do soil preparation and provide seedlings for the project. Cluny Farm has, as part of its Outreach Project invited Bona Lesedi, a similar organisation based in Diepsloot, to join in on this project and ten of their young intellectually disabled trainees will work in the tunnels alongside our own residents. We are very excited about the prospect of growing a successful organic vegetable harvest for both internal consumption and if all goes well to sell and generate income for both Organisations.
